Voting

Rich County is ALL-BY-MAIL voting, unless you have opted to vote in-person.

Please check with the County Clerk's Office to see if your information is correct and you have a signature on file. You are eligible to vote in Utah if you are a United States citizen, at least 18 years old on or before election day, and will have resided in the State for 30 days prior to election day. If you are an incarcerated felon you are not eligible to vote in Utah. Municipal Elections to elect the mayor and council members are nonpartisan and are held on odd-numbered years. These elections are administered by the City offices and the polling places may be different than those used in even-numbered years. Countywide elections are held in even-numbered years and are administered by the County Clerk/Auditor office. The Election Division is under the direction of Anneliesa Peart, Rich County Clerk/Auditor.

Disability Voting

We believe that every voter has the right to vote independently and privately and are committed to provide meaningful access to all eligible voters within Millard County.

If you have any questions about voting, or are in need of assistance, you may contact our office at (435) 793-2415 or apeart@richcounty.gov.

Millard County mails every active registered voter a ballot approximately 21 days before each election. This allows a vast majority of our voters to vote from the comfort of their own home.  However, there are three methods of voting options that a voter with disabilities may choose from:

Vote by Mail:

Choosing this method allows voters to complete their ballot at home and return it to our office through U.S. Postal Mail or by placing it in one of the Drop Boxes located throughout the county.

In Person Voting:

If a voter prefers, they may vote in person at one of our vote centers during early voting or on Election Day.  Click on Election Notice Polling Locations to find a location near you.  Both of our vote centers are ADA compliant and are equipped with touch screen ballot marking devices that voters may use to help them fill out their ballot. These marking devices are available to any voter upon request, but are particularly helpful to voters that have a hard time reading or marking a paper ballot. These marking devices are designed with accessibility features to enable independent and private voting; such as: large font, contrast, audio, voting pad, and plugins for sip and puff or rocker paddles. You may bring your own headphones and accessories or use the headphones we provide. The following videos explain how to vote in more detail:

Every voter has the right to have someone assist them in the polling place. This can be a family member, a friend, or even a poll worker. The only people who cannot assist a voter is their boss, a trade union representative, or a candidate.

Electronic Voting:
Graphical user interface.
Eligible voters with disabilities may request electronic ballot delivery and return for elections in which they are eligible to vote. This service, provided in partnership with Enhanced Voting under Utah State Code 20A-3a-201, allows voters to receive, complete, and submit their ballot securely online.
How It Works:
  • A secure ballot link is sent via email upon request.
  • Voters complete their ballot using their preferred accessibility technology.
  • The completed ballot is encrypted and securely transmitted to the Elections Office.
  • The Elections Team decrypts, prints, and counts the ballot alongside all other by-mail ballots.
Why Voters May Prefer This Option:
  • Works with most accessibility technology.
  • Allows voting from any location with internet access.
  • No signature is required.
  • Ballots are sent at least 21 days before the election, providing ample time to review and return them.
To request a remote accessible ballot or discuss additional accommodations, please contact our office at (435) 793-2415 or apeart@richcounty.gov.
