Understanding Your Voter Registration Privacy

The Lieutenant Governor's Office has sent out a letter on the new SB153 Bill that was passed. 
In order to maintain your voter registration record as a protected record, you must qualify as an at-risk voter and take action prior to May 6, 2026. You can find the form here  https://vote.utah.gov/voter-privacy-information/. If the application is not received by the Clerk/Auditor before May 6, 2026, your information described will become public on May 25, 2026. 
To qualify as an at-risk voter, you or a voter in your household, must belong to one of the following groups:
• An individual who is a victim of, or who is threatened with, domestic violence or dating violence
• A law enforcement officer
• A public figure
• A member of the armed forces
• An individual protected by a protective or protection order * view the full qualifications on the enclosed form
 
Information Never Shared With the Public
While basic registration records are public, the following personal information is considered strictly private for all voters and may only be disclosed to government entities for election administration purposes:
  • Social Security Number
  • Driver’s License or State ID Number
  • Full Date of Birth
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Signature
Note: Failure to provide necessary information (like your SSN, state ID, complete date of birth, and signature) on your voter registration form may prevent election officials from processing your application.

Voting

Rich County is ALL-BY-MAIL voting, unless you have opted to vote in-person. 

Please check with the County Clerk's Office to see if your information is correct and you have a signature on file. You are eligible to vote in Utah if you are a United States citizen, at least 18 years old on or before election day, and will have resided in the State for 30 days prior to election day. If you are an incarcerated felon you are not eligible to vote in Utah. Municipal Elections to elect the mayor and council members are nonpartisan and are held on odd-numbered years. These elections are administered by the City offices and the polling places may be different than those used in even-numbered years. Countywide elections are held in even-numbered years and are administered by the County Clerk/Auditor office. The Election Division is under the direction of Anneliesa Peart, Rich County Clerk/Auditor.

2026 Primary Elections

FOR ALL REGISTERED VOTERS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

In 2026 there will be partisan primary elections.

  • The Republican Party will have a Primary Election on June 23, 2026.
  • The Republican Party will hold local caucus and convention meetings in addition to any statewide meetings. Only registered Republicans can participate. If you are not registered as a Republican, but would like to participate in the local caucus and convention meetings, please update your voter registration.
  • According to State Law, political parties set rules regarding who may participate in their primary elections and caucuses.
  • Your party affiliation will determine which ballot you receive and which primary or caucus you may participate in. 
  • Check or change your party affiliation.
  • You may remain unaffiliated and affiliate with your chosen party at any time.
